物語は、単身魔王城へ勇者が乗り込む場面から始まります。
しかし勇者が魔王のいる玉座についた時、そこには一人の美しい少女が佇んでいたのです。
しかも少女は自らを魔王と名乗ると、この世界に新の平和を実現する為に供に魔王である自分と供に協力してほしいと勇者に提案したのです。
魔王の提案に対して勇者は答えます。
否、僕は魔王を倒し、この終わることのない戦争を終結し、再びこの世界に平和をもたらすのだと。
勇者の返答に対して魔王は答えます。
この世界で現在進行中の戦乱は、人間と魔族における種族としての問題ではなく、それぞれの抱える根本的な矛盾が問題なのだと。
その根本的な問題こそ、圧倒的に開いた富む者と貧しき者、持つ者と持たざるもの、この格差こそが最大の原因であると。
もし即座に戦争を終結させると、双方の陣営とも貧しき者は全ての糧を失い、富むものは大幅に衰退することになると。
そして必ず訪れるのがこれまでとは比較にならないくらいの圧倒的な悲劇であると。
続けて魔王は勇者に提案します。
この問題を解決し戦争を終結させるためには、貧しき者全てに生きていく為の糧を学んでもらう他に存在しないと。
魔王の回答によりこれまで抱いていた疑問に対して答えを得た勇者は、魔王の提案を受け入れ、ともに世界から戦争を終わらせることができる状況を構築すための旅へと出発する決意をしたのです。
そして魔王と勇者が辿り着いたのが、辺境に位置する貧しい農村だったのです。
そこでまず魔王が提案したのが、まずこの貧しい農村で農業改革を実行し、人々が十分に暮らせるだけの食料を生産する方法を村人たちに教授するというものだったのです。
その農業改革の一つが、まず農地を４分割にし、それぞれで異なる作物を作りながらローテンションさせることによって、作物を生産しながら農地をさらに肥沃にしていくという画期的な提案だったのです。
しかし魔王がいくら村人たちに説明してもなかなかその提案は受け入れられず、前途多難な状況から改革は始まることになります。
そんな時、夜更けに魔王の住む屋敷の馬小屋付近で怪しい物音が響き渡ります。
勇者と魔王が物音に反応して馬小屋へいってみると・・・・。
【レビュー・評価・感想】
魔王と勇者の対面場面があのドラゴンクエストⅠの竜王との対面場面を連想させたり、登場する職業も勇者、魔王、剣士、魔法使いだったりで、世界観はあの人気RPGであるドラゴンクエストにすごく近い設定だと思います。
しかも魔王を美少女として登場させることによって、魔王が平和的な世界を構築したいと願う思いを勇者に伝えて説得するという普通なら考えられない状況も違和感なく自然に見ることができます。
さらに現実における経済学をこの世界にも適用することによって、画期的な解決策を次々に提案していくという手法はこれまでになく見事だと思います。
そんな「まおゆう魔王勇者」は、魔王と勇者という斬新な設定を題材にして、世界に存在する様々な問題を現代科学を適用した理論の裏づけで解決していくような、これまのアニメとは一味違ったアニメを楽しみたいファンならぜひ一度視聴してもらいたい注目の新作アニメだといえそうです。

『内容紹介』
